About Linda Burt
Linda Burt wrote her first short story on her Mother's Royal typewriter at age 6. She also acquired her first library card at age six, and reading and writing have been her passion from that time until today.
Linda Burt quit school at 16, had her only child at 17, received a GED from Emily Griffith Opportunity School at 19, and after seven years graduated from Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado, in 1976. During those years, she worked as a bartender, laborer, information operator, waitress, a runner for a phone call charity boiler room, Kelly Girl, and cleaned houses. After graduation, she worked as a caseworker and an administrator of non-profit corporations.
Ms. Burt received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Wyoming in 1991 and served as the Executive Director of Legal Services of Southeastern Wyoming and the Wyoming American Civil Liberties Union. She continues to work part-time, lobbying for progressive causes and writing always writing.
